DIY Distressed Denim

Hey guys!

I hope you all had a fun and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. I remember in high school, I always looked forward to that day off, but in college you’re already free from school! I know my siblings appreciated having that extra day to chill and even though I’m already out from school, I appreciated it too.

A couple weeks ago, I posted a poll on Instagram asking if my followers would like to see a blog post on how to distress denim, and s VAST majority said yes! Whether it be shorts, jackets, or jeans, this method will work for any type of denim. Since it is definitely the summer time for most of us, this is a great way to keep up with summer trends while not spending $30+ on distressed shorts or jeans. In this DIY, the shorts I got were $4 at my local Goodwill. That’s all it cost me to make denim that looks similar to those bought at fast fashion retailers. That brings me to another point! Using DIY methods on your old clothing or on thrifted clothing is a great way to be creative and express your personal style without spending money at fast fashion brands such as Forever 21.

So… let’s get this DIY started!

Before Picture:

I bought these shorts a little bit bigger than my normal size because I still want them to fit me years down the road, and I like the baggy, vintage shorts look! I also made sure that I had a similar color and style of these shorts already before I bought them, so if I made any mistakes I wouldn’t scream at myself for messing up my only pair of dark denim shorts.

Tools Needed:

– The shorts (of course)

– Sharp scissors

– Tweezers

– A solid, flat surface. I used an old children’s book, but a piece of cardboard works great too

– A lot of patience

After you’ve gathered your materials, its time to begin!

Step 1: Planning

Find some inspiration images! Unless you feel comfortable just diving right in, Pinterest is a great friend when it comes to fashion images. Search around for pictures of distressed shorts that you like or enjoy and save them for reference.

Optional: if you need some extra security, use a washable marker or fashion chalk to plan out where you want to place the rips!

Step 2: Separate the Front from the Back

Place your hard surface underneath the leg of the shorts (or jeans if you’re doing that instead). Make sure it is fully separating the front of the jeans from the back. It would be awful if you cut through the whole leg on accident!

Step 3: Make the Pocket Inside Out

Girl, unless you want a hole in your pocket, make sure to do this step! The hard surface being underneath the leg of the shorts/jeans helps with this also.

Step 4: Cut a Slit

I chose to put my first rip/distressing here! The size and length of the slit determines the size and length of the distressing. If you want a bigger rip, I suggest cutting two slits about the size of mine on top of one another. Cutting a slit that’s too long will be a LOT harder to distress. You’ll see why in a minute…

Step 5: Grab Those Tweezers and Pull Out the Threads

This is the hardest step and the most time consuming. Carefully take your tweezers and start to pull out the vertical, blue threads one at a time. If you try to pull out more than one, the threads won’t come out and will break in half or become frayed which makes it even harder. Some material is harder to remove threads from compared to others, so don’t give up! Also, like I mentioned earlier, if the height of the slit is too long, the threads will break in half. The longer the threads, the harder they are to pull out. This is why I suggest working in smaller sections to make one big section.

Continue to repeat this process until all the threads are pulled out of the little slit you made! It does take a while, especially to do a whole pair or shorts or jeans. I suggest turning on a movie, Hulu, or Netflix. You also don’t have to do this all in one day!

This is what I mentioned earlier about working in smaller sections to create a bigger distressed mark!

Step 6: Wash and Dry

All you need to do now is wash and dry these babies using your normal, typical laundry cycle. I wash all my clothes in cold water and dry them on the “normal” option, whatever that means. After that, YOU’RE DONE!

Finished Product:

These are literally my FAVORITE pair of shorts now. I wear them all the time, especially because I put the work into them to create them.

I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! Let me know in the comments if there is anything you need clarified, and let me know if you enjoyed this tutorial!

Minimalist Eyewear ft. Warby Parker Spring Collection

*This post is NOT sponsored. I’m just giving a little shoutout to a newfound brand I enjoy. I am not receiving any product or monetary compensation for this post.

Hey guys! I hope you all have been doing well. Things have finally been winding down from the holidays, and school is approaching REALLY fast. A week from today I’ll be moving all my items back to my college dorm and starting the spring semester of my junior year.

With a new year in place, I definitely want to put more effort into being minimal with my clothing and style. After doing my capsule wardrobe experiment, my perception towards fashion changed completely. I realized that I enjoyed more basic items and less items with bright colors and dramatic patterns. Also as mentioned in previous posts, my Fashion in Society class taught me a lot about sustainability and buying items that are made ethically and with good quality. Because of this, I’m choosing to change my buying habits in 2018, and if I do spend, I want it to either be 1. from a secondhand source or 2. an item that is made well and with organic, sustainable materials. Clothing items that have this criteria are easy to come by, but it’s a little bit harder for accessories.

Accessories, especially glasses, that are affordable and ethically made aren’t popular within our world. Most companies charge $300+ for a good pair of glasses. Usually, the ones that charge less are not very good quality and will break at the snap of a finger! Today, I have the opportunity to bring you guys a company that is actually accessible to college students, is sustainable, and honestly, fits perfectly into the minimalist aesthetic.

Warby Parker is an affordable, eyewear brand that targets college students. This company also recognizes that glasses aren’t something easily accessible to everyone in the world. Because of this, Warby Parker has arranged to give a pair to someone in need whenever a pair of glasses is bought! If you still aren’t convinced, every pair of glasses is designed and made in-home in an Italian family-owned workplace. THIS definitely contributes to the social and commercial aspects of sustainability and shows the comparison of Warby Parker to other companies that use women and children in third world countries who are paid below living wage to produce their items.

For me, glasses are a HUGE part of my life. I wear them every single day, and now they’ve become part of my style and aesthetic. As someone that likes minimalism and a very neutral closet, the new Spring Collection by Warby Parker represents that perfectly.

This collection features frames that are simplistic, yet dynamic. The colors and shapes are very neutral and light which allow for extreme versatility. They can be essential for someone like me, who loves black, white, and gray, or for someone that enjoys bright florals and plaids.

Also, the flexibility of these glasses means that they can be taken from a day look to a club or party look!

It’s about time for me to update my prescription, so I will definitely get my hands on the new Spring Collection, especially because these frames fit who I am PERFECTLY (I think this is like the third time I’ve said that, but it’s seriously true).

If you’re in need of glasses that won’t break the bank, but still perform well and are made beautifully, check out Warby Parker’s new Spring 2018 Collection. I promise they’ll fit in wonderfully with any wardrobe you have, and you’ll also help someone in need whenever you purchase your pair!

Minimalist Party Outfit

Welcome back guys, and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a great New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day filled with love, laughter, and happiness. I’ve decided not to take up a ton of resolutions because I feel life is a process, an experience, and every situation results in growth! Instead, I made a few goals and ambitions that I already put action towards in 2017, so I’m excited for to keep working for that in 2018!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve done an OOTD, but I feel this is the perfect moment to post this simple party outfit.

At my job, we had a “glam girl” theme the weekend of New Year’s Eve. Me being the girl who loves black and white, I ran around frantically trying to get an outfit together. If I’m being honest, I don’t own anything sparkly, shiny, sequin-y, or all of the above. I even asked my mom if she thrifted any “party” pieces lately, but the answer was no. Instead of trying to go out and buy something just to wear for that one occasion, I decided to find a party outfit that catered to my aesthetic: The Girl with No Color in Her Closet.

This outfit was put together with items I have owned for the past year or more. With minimalism, using things you already have or being satisfied with what you already own is a big part of the lifestyle, so this outfit fits that perfectly. Even though these retailers are not sustainable, these items have been with me for some time.

The Top

This 3/4 sleeve turtle-neck from H&M was purchased way back when I was in high school (that’s more than 2 years ago, omg). Even though the material isn’t the best, it’s lasted me this long and pairs with everything in the winter season! It’s an essential basic item to have in the closet, and can be paired with different types of bottoms and shoes to fit your personal aesthetic!

The Bottom

I purchased this denim skirt from Charlotte Russe last year. I currently work there as a sales associate, so I was able to get 40% off of this item! I don’t usually purchase skirts or dresses, but I had been craving a denim skirt for a while, so it time to finally purchase one. Again, the quality isn’t great, but it gets the job done and has lasted me at least a year. The only problem is I’m a curvy girl, and I definitely have a booty! The skirt is a bit short in the back, so I’ve become a bit self conscious about wearing it. Luckily, I was able to snatch some leggings from Charlotte Russe as well, and I paired them underneath. Also, it was 40 degrees outside, so I wanted my legs to be covered!

The Shoes

These shoes I actually snatched from my little sister! She barely wears them, and I wanted to have a boot with a heel to elevate the look and make it more “party girl”. I really should’ve worn MY thigh high boots, which don’t have a heel because my feet were CRYING at the end of my shift, but sometimes we have to hurt for fashion. My sister bought these boots last year from Charlotte Russe as well.

Accessories + Make-up

My hoop earrings are extremely old. I bought them in middle school. Yes, they’re a little rusty. Yes, I probably need to invest in a new pair, but I’m in love with them! They bring the whole outfit together and make it look a bit more “old school party girl”. In addition, adding a pop of color is always a great idea with a majority black outfit. The red lip brings a bit of drama to what could be a plain outfit! The lipstick is NYX Liquid Suede in the color Cherry.

If you’re like me and don’t own a lot of color, I hope this was great inspiration for a party outfit! A scoop back bodysuit and black block heels could be traded out to make this a versatile, minimalistic summer look as well!

How do you usually dress for parties? Let me know in the comments below!

17 Things I Learned in 2017

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I can’t believe another holiday has come and gone. It went by WAAAAAY too fast. We have another holiday quickly approaching…tomorrow. NEW YEAR’S EVE! 2017 is about to come to an end, and in all honesty this year was great for me. I used to participate in the trend of saying how awful one year was to prepare for another, but I realized that type of thinking only brings in negativity. Instead, I’m reflecting on my 2017 and expressing gratitude and appreciation for EVERY situation, challenge, and problem I encountered. Even though they were hard, they helped me grow and learn. I had an amazing 2017, but I know 2018 can only be better! Here are 17 things I learned in 2017!

1. Listen to your intuition

2. Do not let others dictate what you do

3. If you want to do something, DO IT. Do not put it off or wait for someone else.

4. Health outweighs good grades

5. Taking breaks to socialize and enjoy life result in better grades and academic performance

6. Take a little educated risk every now and then

7. When you don’t procrastinate, you actually have free time… (I know this is obvious but it seems a lot of us are too stubborn to realize it)

8. Sleeping in feels good, but waking up early and starting your day feels better

9. A capsule wardrobe is actually doable and very insightful

10. If you focus on yourself, every moment will include growth and positivity

11. Drinking more water is the answer to everything

12. Do not be concerned about what others are doing because they aren’t concerned about you

13. Do not be afraid to showcase yourself, BE PROUD

14. People don’t care what you wear, just dress comfortable and wear what you like

15. Watch who you tell your business too, everyone isn’t a friend.

16. Meditation actually works

17. Do not doubt yourself. You can do anything and everything as long as you work hard and believe in it hard enough. Eventually it will manifest

Bonus: Crockpot meals are a lifesaver, please invest in a crockpot.

I’ve actually learned a lot more, but these are some interesting ones that I really felt impacted my life this year. I hope you guys enjoyed this short little post today, and of course, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What are some things you learned in 2017? Comment below!

Life Update + OOTD

Guys, it’s been a WHILE.

It feels amazing to be back, but lemme tell you, school has been kicking me in the butt.

I’m a junior this semester, so of course the class load isn’t easy, however I didn’t expect this much homework. It’s this constant cycle of homework, social life, and sleep. I think I’ve finally found a decent balance, so my motivation to blog has been ignited once again.  Also, my laptop is in the process of falling apart, so you know how that goes.

I’ve actually been doing really well since I left a month or two ago. At first I took a social media break because I was becoming extremely annoyed with the face of social media, how people were behaving, and the fake facades some bloggers I follow were putting on. Honestly, I had a revelation. Ever since I started blogging I felt I had to keep up with a picture perfect Instagram with long elaborated captions talking about the highlights of my day. I get it; that’s kind of what Instagram is for. I got tired of living that way. I realized that the main reason and focus of why I started a blog was NOT to get Instagram famous, become an influencer, or get multiple comments on a picture. I started a blog because I loved fashion. I started a blog because I loved informing and helping college students. I started a blog because it was an outlet for me to express situations in my life. I’d much rather post pictures on my Instagram that reflect me and my real life versus a staged photo. I’m not saying photos that are staged or feeds that are really nice are bad, but I’m not that kind of put-together person. I don’t mind throwing them in there every once in a while because let’s face it, they look really awesome, but I don’t want my entire page covered in that. My audience is college students, and I know for a fact 95% of the time those students are in sweatpants, t-shirts, and comfy clothes just like me pigging out on fast food because there’s no time to cook.

Taking a social media break and not blogging for a while brought back all the reasons why I love doing what I do and I feel that’s really important. As bloggers, and even millennials, social media can become addicting. We want to be recognized and want others to notice our work. We become obsessed with the numbers whether it’s followers, likes, or comments, and when things don’t go our way, we instantly become discouraged. I had to put a stop to it in my own life. If you find yourself feeling a little bothered by the internet, definitely consider taking a step back from all forms of social media and just reflecting. After coming back from this break, I find myself scrolling through my Instagram feed less than I did before. I spent more time outside, with friends, and getting school work done. I also used this time away to brainstorm more blog ideas, and I have some really good material to show you guys. Here are a few more experiences I’ve had since I’ve been away:

  • I got my nose pierced (and I shed a tear).
  • I tried Pad Thai (I usually never order spicy foods or try new foods in general).
  • I ate eel nigiri (and did not like it).
  • I’ve been speaking out more in class discussions (because why not?)
  • I’ve realized that grades don’t make a student, but instead the material that is learned (I’m still working on this one).
  • I went to the first football tailgate and had an amazing time despite the heat!
  • I’m exploring my spirituality and it’s been the best journey of my life (a law of attraction blog post coming soon).
  • I started a capsule wardrobe (a blog post on this coming too..)

That’s all I can think of right now, but I’m beyond excited for this new lifestyle that involves taking risks and not being “so perfect”.

Overall, I’m extremely happy to be back in the blogging game and sharing my life with all of you. This feeling of inspiration and excitement is one I’ve missed SO much.

Before I go, here’s a few more photos of my Friday, September 22nd outfit:

#OOTD ft. Summer Sunnies

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog!

Today I’m coming at you with an Outfit of the Day, featuring these super cute sunglasses! I was sent these sunnies to review by a newly opened company called SurgeXO.  Don’t worry, I’m not being sponsored by them or paid by them to review these sunglasses! This is an honest and truthful review, so I can provide you guys with the best information possible.

I reached out to this company because I loved their items and wanted to collaborate. The one thing that caught my attention is that 60% of all of their sales go to The American Cancer Foundation. Since my grandma had cancer, this really resonated with me and made me want to work with them even more.

They have a few colors of sunglasses to choose from: black, black and blue, black and gray, gold and black, gold and pink, and red. I was sent the gold and pink ones to review. At first I was nervous, because the sunglasses are ONLY $2.99 on their website. I really didn’t know what I was going to get.

Guys…

These sunnies are SUCH good quality. Because of the price being so low, I expected something light weight, flimsy, and cheap. However, these are the complete opposite of all of those things. They’re a really good weight and definitely aren’t going to break anytime soon. The color is amazing, and I had to wear them outside to test if they actually worked.

NEWS FLASH: they work great!

I’m not someone who wears sunglasses a lot because I have to wear ACTUAL glasses, but I might sacrifice 20/20 vision to wear these more often. The only downside is the item does take a couple of weeks to arrive. They are being bought and shipped from China. If you know that you need a pair of sunglasses for a trip, order a couple weeks in advance!

Overall, I would recommend SurgeXO if you’re looking for a pair of cute and fashionable sunglasses, and you’re willing to wait a bit for them to arrive! For a newfound company, they’re doing an amazing job, and the price you’re getting these for is basically a steal. Also, you’re helping out a great cause by buying from them!

Here’s a link to their website, give it a click: https://www.surgexo.com/

The romper and shoes I’m wearing are both from Forever 21!

Easter #OOTD

easterootd

I know Easter has come and gone, but I had to share this beautiful dress with you all! A few days before Easter weekend, I went shopping at the Ross by my college campus with a couple of friends. Even though I had a few items in my hands, I ended up walking out with nothing because I didn’t feel in love with the items I picked out. Also, I wasn’t about to pay $16 for a dress. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot, but for a struggling college student, that’s way over the budget! On Saturday, my boyfriend and I (mostly me) decided to take a trip to the Ross by my house. Yes, I know it was the day before Easter. Yes, I know the stores were extremely crowded. Sadly, and unsurprisingly, that didn’t stop me from fighting the crowd and looking through some dresses. At that point, I was ecstatic that I decided to not buy anything a couple of days before at the Ross in my college town! Here’s the dress I found for $13, and waited in last-minute-shopping line for:

FullSizeRender(3)

Despite this being a size large, it fit so well! I fell in love with it at first sight because it’s off-the-shoulder AND it has slits!

IMG_1726

FullSizeRender(6)

The color is also something I’m a fan of. Because I have dark skin, yellow is a color that really makes me look good.

FullSizeRender(4)

Even though I don’t have on shoes in this picture (don’t judge, I was at home), I would’ve paired this dress with brown sandals, my Creature lippie stick from Colourpop, and a brown watch or accessory for the wrists or neck.

IMG_1719

I know this post isn’t very long, but I couldn’t resist showing this off! I don’t buy items like this very often, so I’m happy to have ventured out of my comfort zone. I hope I’ve inspired you all to take a step in a new style direction as well!

Until next time!

Birthday #OOTD

birthdayootd

I promised a couple weeks ago that I would make a post about my birthday outfit. I know it’s been some time, but I’m not going to break my promise to you guys! It’s finally here and I can’t wait to share the details of this comfy and college friendly outfit.

fullsizerender2

Now, it’s nothing fancy. Even though it was my birthday, I still had class all day. I had to wear an outfit that was cute, but still felt comfortable since I had to walk to and from class! A lot of these items I’ve mentioned before, but the two that stand out the most are the pants and the top.

img_0543

The pants:

The pants are an item that I’ve actually had since…sophomore or junior year of high school. To put that into perspective, I’m currently a sophomore in college. I bought them out of impulse, tried them on, and decided that they weren’t for me. At that point they were thrown into a bin and never thought about again until I was going through it during Christmas break. Since my style has changed (definitely for the better), I decided to give them another go and I fell in love. Plus, I was excited that they still fit. These babies are super comfortable and loose, but the elastic in the waist allows for stretch. There’s also a little pocket in the back for show (it doesn’t really hold stuff). This pair of pants was found at Forever 21. I know it was a couple years ago, but I’m sure they have similar styles!

fullsizerender

The Top:

The top is actually a bodysuit! I don’t own very many of them, and thought the color would look great on my skin, so I snatched it up. What I love about this bodysuit is that it snaps on the bottom like a onsie opposed to those that you have to take off fully making it a hassle when you have to pee (and basically naked in a bathroom stall). The style is just a basic tank top, but I would buy one of these in every color if I could! It’s also very comfortable, and even though it’s winter, it came in handy for the bipolar weather in Texas. This bodysuit was also bought from Forever 21.

The Shoes and Accessories:

Lastly, the shoes and the earrings are items you’ve all seen before, but of course I’ll mention them anyway. The earrings were given to me by my mom, so I have no idea where they’re from (sorry!). The shoes are very comfortable to walk in, and go with anything because they’re black. I bought these from Target.

img_0546

That’s all I have for today! Thank you guys for your patience, I know it took me some time to get this post up. I hope everyone has an amazing week, and to all of you college students: ITS ALMOST SPRING BREAK!!!

Work OOTD

blogpostbanner

Welcome back to my blog you guys!

Today I decided to post on this really cute outfit that I wore to work on Thursday! Since I do work in a pretty popular clothing store, a very strict dress code isn’t heavily enforced. We’re just required to dress very stylish, trendy, and with the season! With it supposedly being fall/winter (more like summer in Texas with this 70 degree weather), I decided to do a very casual but cute outfit featuring my favorite olive green jacket. I’ll be bolding where I got each item below!

I hope you enjoy! (:

img_4924

The jacket and the top:

This jacket I’m seriously in LOVE with. I bought it last Christmas and get super excited when the temperature drops below 70 because I have an excuse to wear it! It’s not super thick, but isn’t thin either, so I wouldn’t recommend wearing it in below freezing temperatures. However, it’s great when it’s a little chilly or when the wind is strong! Also, the olive green color is a perfect fall essential color (I’m pretty sure I’m obsessed with it). I paired this jacket with a black v-neck cami. Both items are from Forever 21.

img_4929

The jeans:

I know I posted about these jeans in my Thanksgiving OOTD post, but I have to brag on them again. I’ve had them for a few years now and they’re still in GREAT condition. At first, I was going to wear distressed boyfriend jeans with this outfit, but something felt heavily out of place when I saw everything together. I knew these jeans would be a better fit because dark colors tend to go well with each other, and with the fall season. They also bring out your figure SO well. These jeans are from HM.

img_4933

The shoes:

I bought these shoes in high school for a performance, and decided to start wearing them casually as well. Even though the wedge isn’t that high, they’re perfect to walk around in on a nice, chill day out. For me, I have trouble walking in very high heels, so I actually prefer these over other types of wedges. They have a strap around the ankle that is adjustable and a zipper in the back. I also love wearing them to work because they’re comfortable and stylish! These cuties were bought from Target.

img_4932

The accessories:

In this last category I’ll be talking about the bag, choker, and lipstick! The bag is actually my mom’s. I needed something cute, but subtle to take to work with me to keep my things in and found this beauty in her closet. It’s one of the old vintage Coach backpacks! In this picture, I’m wearing both of the straps on one shoulder like a bag in this picture, but it’s such a convenient bag! There’s also a ton of room inside of it too, so it can hold a lot of things. As mentioned above, this bag is from Coach. The choker is one of the popular and trendy shoelace chokers! I know you’ve all seen them everywhere on Instagram and Youtube. I saw the opportunity to get one, and definitely took it. What I love about these chokers is that you can wear it in various ways. There’s also a clasp on the back like on a normal necklace, so it’s adjustable on the neck. This choker is from Charlotte Russe (P.S. this store is having a sale where ALL items, including shoes, are $20 or less, so check that out!). Lastly, the lipstick I’m wearing is almost like a dark red/maroon. It was my very first purchase of a matte lipstick and I’ve had it since the summer. It’s also a very popular color for the fall/winter season! This lipstick is called Creature from Colourpop.

I hope you guys found some good information and inspiration from this quick OOTD! Happy Holidays everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving OOTD

blogpost3

Welcome back to my blog you guys!

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving holiday that was spent with loved ones, and involved lots of good food. I, unfortunately, ate way too much and retired to the couch shortly after my meal.

Anyway, I know this weekend is filled with crazy good deals (with black Friday and cyber Monday). I’ve decided to post pictures of my Thanksgiving outfit and state where the items are from. If any of you guys were interested, or magically become interested after seeing these pictures, the places where I bought/received these items will be provided below, so you can buy the same item (or something similar if what I’m wearing is sold out). I thought today would be the PERFECT time to reveal where I’ve gotten a few things since many of you will have the opportunity to get them for WAY less than I did.

So here we go!

IMG_4691.JPG

The full outfit consists of an off-the-shoulder top, dark wash high-waisted jeans, and brown peep toe sandals. Accessories include a brown Fossil watch and a classic pair of silver statement earrings that dangle.

The top:

First, this was the very first off-the-shoulder item I purchased. I was terrified because I didn’t have anything like this in my closet. It was a step out of my comfort zone, and after wearing it a couple of times, I purchased two more! The top comes with cute embroidery on the sleeves. It’s not full length, but not short enough to be cropped either. There’s also a bit of underwire that lies underneath, so if you decide to set the girls free, you’ll definitely have some support. I also adore the color against my skin, and since it isn’t fitted, it’s great for eating so your food baby can be hidden. (: This item was purchased from Charlotte Russe.

img_4692

The pants:

I’ve owned these jeans for a while, probably about three years now. There was a point where I was selling them on my Depop, but I had to take them off because I definitely couldn’t part with my ONLY pair of dark wash, high-waisted jeans. In this picture, they’re currently rolled up, but the jeans do not come that way. They fit very nicely and even have some stretch. I’ve seen 0 signs of wear and tear after three years, so they were a great buy, and not very expensive either. These beauties were purchased from H&M.

img_4693

The shoes:

Even though it’s the fall, the weather here in Texas definitely hasn’t caught up. For those of you that are in states whose temperatures actually correspond with the current season, forgive me. At least the brown color fits into the fall/thanksgiving theme. These peep-toe sandals are actually my sister’s, but she doesn’t like them so I happily took them off of her hands. They take a while to break-in, but once there, you will constantly pair these with cute and casual outfits. They’re also adjustable because of the laces. These shoes were found at Ross.

img_4690

The accessories:

The two accessories I’m wearing in this shoot, as mentioned above, are the Fossil watch and the earrings. This watch is my one and only Fossil watch, and I wear it literally every other day. It was also a gift from my boyfriend that I’m extremely thankful for. I love it because it’s not too big or too small on my wrist. It also has a small circle that shows the date, and changes on it’s own whenever it hits 12am the next day. It’s a very classic and minimal watch that can literally be paired with anything. It’s a very good investment. The earrings were actually given to me by my mother. I don’t have much detail on where she got them, but I can assure you that any classic pair of earrings can spice up any outfit. It can take something to the next level.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy shopping!
